Meet Karen

Designer

Meet the artist behind Juniper Designs!

Karen lives in Southwest Virginia with her family. She grew up in the Tidewater region of Virginia and has since lived in Richmond, Chicago, Nashville, and Starkville, MS. Karen loves being back in her home state (Virginia really is for lovers) and when she’s not making jewelry, she might be out hiking the beauty of the Virginia mountains. She also works as a clinical psychologist and finds creating art and being outdoors to be great therapeutic outlets. She has always tried her hand at multiple art forms and first began making jewelry as bead therapy“ with a friend in graduate school in 2000. She was hooked on the idea of creating wearable art and has explored different techniques and media for jewelry making ever since.

Karen’s designs reflect her love of outdoor spaces, international travel, and color/pattern exploration. She loves creating one of a kind designs and curating a jewelry line that includes components gathered from around the world. She hopes you will enjoy her work and find something that makes you or a loved one feel special!

Perhaps it is because cats do not live by human patterns, do not fit themselves into prescribed behaviour, that they are so united to creative people.
