Juniper designs uses multiple media for our products, some of which require special care. Please read below for care of different materials.
Polymer clay:
Some of our jewelry is made with non-toxic PVC based medium called Polymer Clay. Even though polymer clay is durable and strong it still needs to be cared for correctly. It is best to store polymer clay pieces in a dry cool spot. Try to keep the pieces clear of any makeup, chemicals, and perfumes as they can stain or cause breakdown of the piece. If you find there are marks that don’t come off you can use a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a cotton pad or baby wipes and wipe sparingly to remove the mark. If your piece has glitter or gold leaf, do not do this as the alcohol can affect the varnish that was applied to protect these surface treatments. Avoid showering, swimming, or sleeping while wearing your jewelry as these activities can weaken and damage your jewelry. If you travel with your jewelry, make sure to store them in a non-crushable container.
Brass:
Most of the gold-toned metals you seen in Juniper designs are made of brass, which tarnishes with time. You can easily restore the shiny finish on your brass pieces by gently wiping it with a jewelry polishing cloth, vinegar, Brasso, or Bar Keepers friend.
IMPORTANT SAFETY WARNING
PLEASE do NOT allow any children to play with, wear or chew on your jewelry. They are NOT for teething purposes and will break when chewed on – which is a potential choking hazard. NEVER leave a child unsupervised around any of your jewelry, as this could be a SERIOUS choking hazard.
What is your return policy?
Due to the handmade nature of these products and being a small business, I do not typically accept returns. Please make note of the size of the product in photos to make sure the size suits you prior to purchasing. Handmade art often does have minor imperfections and these should be considered part of the charm of shopping handmade. If you are unhappy with your purchase due to a major defect, please let me know within three days of receipt and I will do my best to correct the issue. I will also do my best to address repairs if your product becomes damaged, but there may be a charge to do so.
Do you offer hypo-allergenic metals?
Yes! Please email me if you have a sensitivity to certain metals and I will be glad to accommodate. There may be a small upcharge for the increased cost of special materials and possible delay in shipping if I need to order special posts.
